Bulls power forward Taj Gibson is the latest player to drop out of the Team USA minicamp because of injury,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], after he sprained his ankle at a Wednesday workout,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], .
Gibson scrimmaged against the senior national team last summer as a member of the select team,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and this would have been his second straight summer playing within the Team USA program. He will instead sit out the three-day camp,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], where his coach,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Tom Thibodeau, will also participate as a Team USA assistant.
“That was such a great experience,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],” Gibson told the Tribune. “My ankle isn’t too bad but I don’t want to make it worse because I want to be fresh for training camp and the season. I’m just real bummed because I felt ready and had had a great few weeks of workouts.”
The Spurs' Kawhi Leonard also will miss the minicamp, which starts Monday in Las Vegas, because of a knee injury.
