Israel has always systematically targeted Palestinian schools and children . This supposed civilized country actually has a prison for children under 14 years of age we're not talking a 'correction center' here, we're talking full on Alcatraz for Palestinian preteens.

US tax dollars subsidize the development of the armement products of Bechtel, General Dynamics, Chamberlain,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Gentex, United Technologies,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Lockheed Martin and then we subsidize the Israelis's purchase of same. Then we channel money through the UN and other charities to build badly needed infrastructure in Palestine,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which is then destroyed when Israel deployes our bombs.
I know we have been at this war thing for 10,000 years, but when are we going to get smart? Good Lord. Bombing Palestinian schools,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], UN facilities, government buildings, roads, bridges, universities and police stations seems like a huge waste of US dollars when our own infrastructure is crumbling. Are we the stupidest people on earth or what?
Just another sad example that Israel doesn't care in the slightest about world opinion. And why should they? They have had unbridled American support for decades,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], tacitly endorsing increased settlements on occupied lands, choking roadblocks monitoring Palestinians' every move (700+ in the West Bank alone, building Apartheid walls, etc. The list goes on and on and on, and we have been complicit every step of the way.

I used to consider myself "proIsraeli". I lived there for 2 years. It is more and more difficult to feel that way now.
The way the war on Lebanon in 2006 was conducted (massive destruction of infrastructure, widespread use of cluster bombs) was indefensible. So was they way this war was conducted. The constant building of more walls, roads and settlements is indefensible.
Hamas' rocket attacks only make things much worse for all infuriate all Israelis, provoke fear and outrage, and guarantee the extremists within Israel have no viable opposition.
What a mess: the "good" majority in Gaza and the West Bank and Israel have lost all hope: the extremists on both sides have won. Thank you McClatchy, at least it is important for us all to see the truth. There have been far too many lies, I am sick of it. Americans and Israelis need to know what is the result of the policies their governments have pursued.
