Jay Bouwmeester agreed to a five-year contract extension with the St. Louis Blues,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the team announced Thursday. Terms were not disclosed.
The veteran defenseman had one year remaining on his previous contract,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]; the new deal will run through the 2018-19 season,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
The Blues acquired Bouwmeester in a trade with the Calgary Flames last April 1. He collected seven points (one goal,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], six assists) in 14 regular-season games after the trade.
Bouwmeester's signing comes two weeks after the Blues ,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the team's leading scorer last season.
