Scott Boras attempted a not-so-subtle response Wednesday to rapper/mogul/sports agent Jay-Z's lyrical trash talk about former Boras client .
In "Crown," one of the songs on his new album "Magna Carta Holy Grail" (it's due out Thursday; funny timing that this is all coming out now, eh?), Jay-Z lays it out plainly:
"Scott Boras, you over baby / Robinson Cano, nike sko, you coming with me."
JAY-Z DIGS AT NFL:
Cano left Boras' agency in April to , which in partnership with powerhouse Creative Artists Agency.
Boras, in his response, tried to make the point that his agency is successful because it focuses on just one sport, nike free, whereas Jay-Z and Roc Nation will try to juggle multiple sports.
"Baseball has given us everything we have, so we give baseball everything we have, billige nike free, all of the time. We believe that this is the best thing we can do for fans, players and owners, to help players with their total commitment. We don't represent basketball players or football players, nike shox," "We watch, nike løbesko, observe and listen to the game. We help the players who play it with a singular purpose, nike air max, and that is baseball.
"We have a marketing company, but opportunities don't avail themselves unless players become stars. That's our philosophy."
Boras also told CBS and ESPN that his favorite musician is ... former Yankees center fielder Bernie Williams, an accomplished guitarist.
