New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith is looking for new agents after his draft experience didn't go according to "The Blueprint,Beats By Dr Dre." Who then would be better to represent him than Jay-Z?
Roc Nation, an agency owned by the hip-hop mogul, was among the groups to make their pitches to Smith this week. Although Jay-Z isn't licensed to be an agent, his company's partnership with Los Angeles-based Creative Artists Agency would allow him to connect with Smith.
Jay-Z's best-known tie to New York sports was minority owner of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets,beats audio, a stake he recently gave up. Roc Nation already has landed Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano, and Jay-Z created some controversy when he helped bring over Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz to CAA last month. Cruz is looking for a new lucrative deal entering his fourth NFL season.
