South Australia to review school bullying
South Australia to review school bullying
Education Minister Jay Weatherill has appointed former education department boss Bill Cossey to conduct the review which will look at the policies and practices in place to deal with bullying and violence in schools,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
He will take a particular look at how antibullying policies were applied in the recent northern suburbs case which resulted in assault charges being laid against a number of students,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
"However, our schools have an obligation to deal decisively and assertively with violence and bullying when it presents itself and it is vital that the community has confidence that this is indeed happening.
The minister said South Australia was an acknowledged leader in tackling bullying in schools,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
"But in the light of recent events,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it is appropriate that we now review our policies and practices to see what lessons can be learned from this incident and consider what can be learned from recent work on this issue," he said.

Doubt this will be done,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but the dozens of workplace and schoolyard bullying policies I have seen over the years,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], NEVER have I seen a clause regarding consequence. You know Mister Manager. sit on your backside too long and YOU will be held accountable and there will be consequences. These policies are written by people in human resources. They would not know a bully if they waltzed up and pushed over their cardboard cups of lattes.
