Gilbert Arenas loses his mother
Gilbert Arenas already faces a difficult week ahead, with his sentencing for felony gun possession set for Friday. But Arenas's troubles were magnified recently, when he discovered that his estranged mother, Mary Francis Robinson, died in Miami.
Robinson passed away on March 13, but Arenas didn't find out until a few days later,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], according to multiple sources. The cause of her death is not known.
Arenas wasn't close to his mother,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who abandoned him at young age and left him to be raised by his father, Gilbert Sr.,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], from the time that he was 3. Arenas met his mother only once in the past 25 years. In his second season with the Golden State Warriors, Robinson approached him after a game in Miami. Although he has not been in communication with Robinson, Arenas paid for her funeral expenses.
Arenas is said to be distraught over her death. Arenas said he never held any animosity toward his mother,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but his one encounter is believed to have traumatized him. Arenas always said that he planned on reconnecting with Robinson after his playing days were over. He never got the chance.
That is really too bad. It is bad enough to lose someone close to you. Bu to lose someone with whom you hoped to one day be able to reconcile and then not get that chance is really hard. I hope he finds someone he can talk with this about because mentally, it can mess you up. I send out my condoleneces to Gilbert and hope that some how he can find peace with this situation because as one who has lost both parents, it is never easy. May God Bless Gil. MIKE MILLER didn't play the fourth because IMO early in the game, he refused to take shots and attack the rim. The offense was obviously geared through him in the second quarter when KOBE went crazy on everybody in a WIZARDS uni.
But back to MILLER. He passed time and again to teammates in poor offensive positions when he was the obvious choice to run the offense, and had the best shots available to the club. The LAKERS play defense, and MIKE appears very reluctant to take any shots when he's heavily defended.
He won't be on this club next fall in my opinion. How can anyone here presuppose how Gilbert or his mother thought or felt when they made the choices they made? Gilbert's mother, and Gilbert too,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], made decisions based upon THEIR greatest needs at the time those choices were made. They lived with their decisions and then with their consequences. How dare we judge either of them? When did we become so arrogant, cynical,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and insensitive?
Somewhere during this macabre season, we've dehumanized Gilbert. So sad for him; sadder still for us.
It sucks that teachers police officers and firefighters,etc. don't make the most money in our society but no one buys season tickets at thousands of dollars to see them do their jobs. We will pay incredible amounts of money to be entertained. So in turn a lot of people resent those who are fortunate enough to capitalize on that. Being THAT jealous of anyone is characteristic of a weak and insecure person.
People develop stong hatreds for these athletes over quotes that they don't approve of! Or really because they don't have the same limits in life most of live by!
I haven't agreed with a lot of things that you have done this year (professionally speaking) but I do want to offer my condolences and prayers for you and your loss.
